I spent years trying to reconcile the neuroscience I was reading with the spiritual experiences I was having. The brain said one thing. The body said another. And neither side seemed willing to admit the other existed.
What I have come to understand, through my own healing and through working with clients, is that the 'soul' is not a ghost in the machine. It is the informational architecture that organizes the machine. The brain is the translator, not the generator. The body is the phase-locked loop, not the source code.

Excellent explanation and one that speaks to the heart as well... one of the songs you could perhaps put in your thread It's from my favorite band in a way, Earth, Wind and Fire, (I used to party with them in Boulder before they became big back in the day) and one of their songs lyrics directly speaks to what you're saying and one wonders if the quantum pairing or whatever it is of love ever dissipates either if the interaction between two instruments a duo a trio or a Symphony is in the same class of what you speak. They wrote a song "I'll write a song for you." And I believe one of the lyrics is Sounds never Disappate they only recreate in another space and time.... and I believe that having spoken with many of my patients who have passed their personalities interestingly remain intact beyond the grave and literally remained functional and aware meaning that the song never dissipates but the musician remains... It's just a thought let me know what you think...
It was wonderful thinking about this and that's where it really gets interesting. I just listened to I'll Write A Song For You Again and realized that there is evidence for persistence of these fields in both the implicit and explicit order of David Bohm, the renowned physicist. in the explicit order electromagnetic forces can be observed and we can document the persistence of events within that particular holographic type universe but in the implicit order non local quantum communication between fields exists instantaneous that do not fall off with distance or signal strength and there is no interference We're static if you would in that environment. That is where the soul operative it perhaps explains the persistence of a personality as a collective field containing in some way all of the experiences of that collective field to reach incarnation. If Bohm gives us a possible way of thinking about latent form, and Jade’s model asks how a local biological field might couple with something more fundamental, I keep wondering about the observer itself. What determines the resolution of that coupling?
My own work approaches this from neurodivergence and perceptual sensitivity. In my observation and in conversations with others, nervous systems appear to filter, prioritize, and integrate information quite differently. So even before we solve what the underlying field is, there may be a tractable question here. Why do some observers appear to detect patterns, shifts, or relational information that others consistently miss? I notice this in my own work repeatedly.
What I haven’t seen addressed is how the observer’s own filtering, learned patterns, physiological state, and attentional habits determine what becomes accessible to them. It’s like two people standing in the same room receiving entirely different signals.
For me, that observer-side problem is where the phenomenology and the larger theories start to touch. It’s also where I think real questions become experimentally tractable.

The idea that a “band” of the field becomes "you", that each life has its own particular music, and that what is played is not simply lost when the instrument falls silent, feels remarkably close to an ancient spiritual intuition.
I also appreciated the writer’s honesty about where the science runs out. The missing mechanism is a real gap, and acknowledging it makes the exploration more compelling. Perhaps the deepest questions are not always resolved by finding the final equation, but by transforming the one who is asking the question—by becoming a clearer instrument, softening the inner dampers, and allowing more of the Beloved to be reflected through our lives.
And I keep returning to the couple who raised their hands for their eleven-year-old son. We cannot know what happened that night, and the article wisely does not present it as proof. But the thought that a child lived, loved, touched other lives, and left something of himself woven into the world is deeply moving.

I have no scientific background. All of my knowledge comes from following my thoughts to find things that my mind is thinking in a descriptive way.
My understanding is that Source consciousness is the Ether. Ether interacts with dark matter and energy to create matter. Human beings are matter and our brain can interact with the Ether via the piezoelectric crystals in the pineal gland to create out local consciousness in our perspective. Humans are also electro magnetic instruments and our emotions can change the electro magnetic fields we emit. This would then alter the interaction we have with the consciousness field. Our emotions are a calibrating tool to give our interactions with the consciousness field meaning. This is how two people can have different experiences with the same event, the emotion calibrates the meaning that is then stored in the consciousness field.
We upload and download via frequency to consciousness field, this is how we adapt our behaviours as our local consciousness gains more experience that in turn shapes the downloads we get and is manifested in our human development and our perception of the world around us.
Simon, I’m really interested in the architecture you’re describing here, especially the idea of a feedback loop between the local system, lived experience, emotional state, and whatever larger informational environment consciousness may be embedded within.
The part I keep coming back to in my own work is the question of filtering. What if differences in perception are not always about gaining access to something extra, but about how much information a particular nervous system suppresses, amplifies, or allows through? That would make emotion, attention, physiology, and prior experience less like passive responses and more like variables that shape what becomes perceptually available.

From my own personal experience I've noticed a substantial change in my perception and nervous system. My background is diagnosis of Autism, ADHD and BPD. I was very emotionally dysregulated. I have done work on myself mentally and physically and Then I had an awakening experience. After my experience I can feel my body with a lot more sensitivity. Like sensations internally and externally. I've felt energy move through my body and had physical sensations whilst seeing visualisations in deep meditation. My nervous system feels like it has widened its gaze. I say all this because my emotional, physical and mental states were improved. Which points towards what you are saying. These factors when adjusted, alters the bandwidth in which you can interact with the consciousness field. I do believe work on the ego, and to strip it back to its original purpose (survival) is the key to widening our conscious field awareness. I am currently creating an app to help people identify ego traits and provide a path to work on lessening their impact on life. Christ Consciousness is the ultimate version. Ego stripped right back and the nervous system fully open to interact with consciousness and all the wonders it holds. On a final note, this is why the world is full of distractions and chaos, to keep the bandwidth narrow. Narrow bandwidth makes for easily controlled populations. Thank you for your message. Donald Hoffman just did a talk at a conference where his theory of conscious agents reconstructed parts of our standard model of physics starting from nothing but conscious agents in a 'field'. Hard math. I think he deserves a mention for that. I didn't get to read the whole article, so if you did mention him, kudos.
As a Therapeutic Evidential Medium, this is exactly the kind of conversation that fascinates me — not because I think science has “proven” the soul, but because I love the places where what we can measure begins to brush up against what human beings have experienced spiritually for centuries.
I don’t think science and spirituality have to compete for the same language. Science can help us understand mechanisms, while spirituality leaves room for meaning, consciousness, mystery, and experiences we may not yet know how to explain.
For me, the most interesting place is the space between certainty and possibility. That is where curiosity stays alive. 🌙

My own research keeps circling a related question from the neurodivergence/perception side: what if some nervous systems are not accessing an extra faculty so much as suppressing less information? If biological architecture determines what can resonate, attention determines what gets amplified, and state changes the coupling conditions, then unusual perception may be less about “receiving” and more about differences in filtering and relational resonance.
I also really appreciated that you named the missing persistence mechanism rather than hiding it. “Architecture waiting on a mechanism” is, to me, exactly where work at the boundary of consciousness research and metaphysics needs to remain intellectually honest.
