❤️, the study also reminds me of a Feldenkrais class I once did. E.g. physical doing repetitive movement with one arm, check increase of movement span. Then with other arm only do movement in your mind with...same and sometime better effect.

Mind is so powerful, just imagine if we all use it for a positive purpose

This framework gave me language for something I've been practicing for years. I really appreciate the clarity of the architecture here. I just posted a bridge piece inspired by this article... and yesterday's too. Thank you for your important work.

But WERNER ERHARD DID IT FIRST. Tony is Werner2.0

Not sure that is really fair to Mr. Robbins when if we wanted to play that game we could say... Est was drawing heavily from Heidegger. Is Erhard Heidegger 2.0? With any of this work we’re really looking at a longer chain of influence rather than a single origin point. Not to mention wouldn't we want individuals improving on and iterating off of this work?

I guess you didn’t do the training. It was a lot more than Heidegger. And, it was original which is why it was (and still is) widely influential and infiltrated numerous sectors of American consciousness. TR capitalized on Werner’s ideas and training. And then took it to a bizarre extreme by irresponsibly having people walk over hot coals. 🙄 Brenee Brown, Wayne Dyer, Eckert Tolle, they all copied mass gatherings for the purpose of elevating consciousness that Werner originated. Werner was a cult leader and abused his children which is why he isn’t cited but never-the-less he was the pioneer who deserves the credit for synthesizing a “training” which changed lives on a mass scale.

I get a little confused at comments like this. Any creator knows they are not an isolated genius. All material comes from other places. It is just the way this works and when you have been around long enough you see the individual influences and appreciate the similarities and nuances. I personally don't like the energy of claiming and disparaging.... claiming ownership or disparging creators

Creator? Genius? Werner was part of the human potential movement which is now a watered down “self-help” movement that people decide to emote for money. Masquerading as someone who has answers for others is the antithesis of “self-help.” Enlightenment comes from intention and experience that is a personal experience. TR provides an experience for people that is a Disney version of “self-help.” Walking on hot coals 🙄 Being aware is not something you can explain to people. He has multiple mansions!!! He’s doing it for the dough!

I promise not to continue. Best of luck on your life path.

I don't think anyone reading this thread would think "enlightenment"... I could be wrong of course... but I think most people see enlightenment as being unaffected by the need for acknowledgement, reciprocation, credit or reward. Certainly I would hope enlightenment would include the ability to see money as neither an evil or a virtue. And mostly I would hope enlightenment would mean humans not getting emotional around social media posts. Thank you for the well wishes. You as well

Dr. Teta, this is the most precise account of the fade I have read, and I read it as someone it happened to. I did his events over two years, spent fifteen thousand dollars, and later crewed one from the inside. The three months of holding and then the collapse you describe, I lived exactly that.

The layer your piece leaves for someone else is the one I kept running into. You explain why the change fades. What sits underneath that, from where I stood, is that the fade is not a failure of the model. It is the return path of the business. Permanent change is bought once. A change that fades under the next real stressor is bought again, one tier up. The two layers he does not touch are the reason the customer comes back.

And there is a piece even below that. The want people are sent home with is engineered so it can never resolve. In the room you are permitted to declare only a financial goal, never the real one, mend it with your brother, stop drinking, be present for your kids. A resolved want ends the customer. An infinite one keeps him buying the thing that promises to get him there. He forbids every want that would actually end the relationship and permits only the one that cannot.

You wrote the neuroscience of why it fades. I spent five years writing the part underneath, why the fade pays. If it is useful I put it here: https://margindoctor.substack.com/p/tony-robbins-part-2-it-took-me-five

Either way, thank you for naming this as clearly as you did.
