This article is the clearest and cleanest way I have read about the difference in instinct, intuition and knowing. Thank you.

the distinction between instinct running on old data and intuition running on live data is one of those frameworks that rearranges how you see everything. brilliant articulation.

what i would add is that this explains why safe people feel boring to someone whose system was calibrated by chaos. consistency does not register as love - it registers as suspicious. the nervous system trained on unpredictability reads a steady partner as missing something because the data set says love is supposed to come with adrenaline. that is instinct wearing intuition's clothes and most people never realize they are dressed wrong.

the hardest part of this work is not recognizing the pattern. it is tolerating the unfamiliar feeling of something actually being okay - and not running from it just because your body does not have a file for that yet.

I've lived this for the last 7 years, getting stuck in instinct and not understanding why I feel so stuck. Although I'm living more and more in a place of intuition (with clear sparks of insight) I often feel anxious, but keep going forward with a sense of self trust and self compassion. This is a tough road to travel, but I can feel a sense of something in me cheering my 'self' on. Really appreciate this and I've saved it to reread when I need reminding I'm on the right road. Thank you.

I think that’s exactly what intuition feels like expansive action in a space of uncertainty mixed with excitement and fear
